UVERworld’s 1st singles, D-Tecno Life, was an immediately hit. Being the 2nd opening to the popular anime, Bleach, UVERworld was shot to fame with that song. I would say it’s a smart move by the recording company.
The single started off with D-Tecno Life, the 2nd opening song for the anime, Bleach. It has a slightly dark genre, and the music is gives a more heavy feeling. This was followed by Ai Ta Kokoro, a more light hearted music. Next is Mixed Up which is a very energetic song, then finally D-Tecno Life (tv size).
I don’t think there is a clear theme for D-Tecno Life, because the 1st song started off as an inspirational type, and then followed by a love song, then another life song.
The songs individually are nice, but when you listen in that order, it doesn’t sound so good anymore, with D-Tecno Life greatly overpowering Ai Ta Kokoro because it is harder rock. Mixed Up also covers Ai Ta Kokoro because of its hyperness. Overall I don’t think it was a good line up.
Final verdict: 8.5/10.
The songs are great and all, but perhaps putting Ai Ta Kokoro 1st might have made it better.
D-tecnoLife..... one song that I hate the most because it is........ HARD TO SPELL. I keep spelling it as D-tecHnolfe!!! *bashed* Okay.. back to the review.
D-tecnoLife is the 2nd opening for Bleach. I never paid attention to it because I always skip the opening songs whenever I watch anime. I only heard it once and never again until I got hooked on to Houkiboshi, 2nd ending song by Younha. So I started listening to d-tecnolife and that was how I first found UVERworld. I believe many others found UVERworld the same way as I did. Although I wasn't much of an UVERfan after listening to D-tecnolife, it was the factor that pushed me to listen to their other songs because their potential is there.
So... 2 things you must pay attention to when listening to this song:
Beatboxing - this is one thing that plays a major role in why UVERworld's songs are special. In d-tecnolife, Takuya has shown us his proficiency in beatboxing. Though you can only hear it at certain parts, we know he has the potential *nods nods*
Lyrics - Another thing that makes d-tecnolife slightly better than other pop/rock songs is the lyrics. No matter how you look at it, it is definitely one song that encourages you to live for the future. The music and the lyrics complement each other very well.
Maybe I am bias or I simply love all their other A sides much more than this one but I won't say that d-tecnolife is anywhere near excellent. Nonetheless, this song has some special quality that made people want to keep listening to it (including myself). I would say it is probably Takuya's voice that does the job because other than that, d-tecnolife is just a typical pop/rock song.
Though I really do not want to say this, but I have to admit the parts in English wasn't that well done. Takuya's articulation wasn't strong enough for them to be heard clearly. But don't worry folks, he is improving.
Final verdict: 8/10
Bleach fans would probably knock me for this. I would love to give d-tecnolife a higher rating but it is not as good as UVERworld's other Asides. f I were to give this song a 9, other songs would have a ridiculous rating of 11/10.
Really, this song is just more well known because it is opening theme of Bleach. If you really want to judge UVERworld's ability, I suggest you keep track of their new releases, it just keeps getting better and better.
D-tecnoLife RKD remix
I know I should put this under just Melody single review but I decided against it as no matter how you look at it, it is still D-tecnolife.
I am not really fond of remixes because it usually sounds crappy. The first few seconds of the song sounds promising but when the vocal come in, that little hope was dashed. The chorus sounds so monotone that it totally lost the impact it has in the normal version. The ending part sounds really off. The instrumental parts sound really weird and it fails to convey the message behind the lyrics.
However, if you don't pay attention to all these flaws, it is tolerable and might actually sound good to a few.
Final verdict: 6.75/10
Unlike many others, I actually enjoy listening to the remix. Even so, I cannot give this song a high rating because it just sounds wrong.
D-tecnoLife (album version)
Seriously... I really wonder why they would make so many different versions of D-tecnolife. Though the album version is way better compared to the remix, it gets boring listening to the same song over and over again.
Compared to the original version, this version of D-tecnoLife has a different introduction and it gives an excellent start to the song, way better than the other 2 versions. The first few seconds are quite redundant though.
Final verdict: 8.25/10
The introduction and ending is better than that the normal version but most parts sound similar. I am unable to give any rating higher than this.

1. The lyrics. A romance song, but is something I would imagine a girl will write instead of a guy (there is a certain degree of fluff that led me to think like this). It talks of loneliness without that special someone, and that his love will not change no matter how much time has pass.
2. The feeling that this song gave me. A mixture of fast and medium pace, from rap to soft singing. It switches very suddenly ,yet if you weren't paying close attention, it wouldn't have occurred to you. Melody is quite catchy and light.
I give 7/10. I didn't feel that the melody conveyed the lyrics quite properly. From melody, I would have interpret it as a song for a good friend who's probably changing and becoming distant. For that kind of lyrics, the tune can be a bit more sappy, but there is a certain amount of softness that makes up for it.
ai ta kokoro (album version)
Ai ta kokoro is the only B-side that made it to the album. Generally, it has the same lyrics, except for the introduction. The instruments also have the same idea, except that the album version is somewhat rougher in the overall texture, making the melody more suitable in conveying the lyrics. Though there are more differences in the original version and the album version compared to those in d-tecnolife, they are less distinct and it feels like you are still listening to ai ta kokoro (original version).
I am no music expert, so I'll leave the review at this.
Final verdict: 7.25/10
Same as D-tecnolife, generally, it is better than that the normal version but most parts sound similar. I am unable to give any rating higher than this.

1. The lyrics. Blast this to a depressed person, I wonder what would happen? The lyrics itself kind of tells you to have a postive mindset, don't keep dwelling and start moving on. Don't stop, just go!
2. The feeling that this song gave me. HYPER! An excellent song for a live (allows good interaction with both the band members and the audience). It motivate people to sing along (if they can catch up) or at least enjoy it. I tend to get a bit high off this song.
Great! 9.5/10. Good lyrics, good melody, very high on life. But it's not something I would recommand to put on repeat, it can get quite boring. However, if you intend to go for a jog or something, it can be quite a motivating song.
