Katsuya  Katsuya (Guitarist/Band Leader) Rumoured real name: Shiratori Katsuya ( 白鳥 克哉 )  Who is Katsuya? WHO IS KATSUYA? Oh my goodness, how can you not know... (Unless you are a first time fan of the band, then maybe you'll be forgiven (just joking ^^). Oh well, this shall be a lesson for you to remember.) He is *drumroll* THE BAND LEADER! In addition to that role, he plays the guitar and pretty much is responsible for the band. There are pictures showing him in an apron and he did say that one of his specialties is cooking. Since UVERworld members live together, I guessing that he cooks their meals most of the time. He is probably the one taking care of their basic needs, making sure that they are healthy. Nobuto did mention that Katsuya can be quite scary when he's angry. (Kind of remind me of a Chinese term: 母老虎 which means tigress. Ah... can you feel the ‘motherly love'? Okay, I'll shut up, but then again, if I shut up, what will happen to the rest of the Katsuya profile? AH HA! I'll continue typing my nonsense, while providing you Katsuya's information.) Katsuya observes the rest of the other members from afar and will readily offer his help to whoever needs it. His Childhood
When he was young, he did a dance for “North Wind and Sun” performance with Takuya (Probably one of those children dance performance where they dress in tutus and the likes *bricked*).
白鳥 克哉 Katsuya – D-tecnoLife to Timeless    PV screencaps When UVERworld first made their debut, Katsuya left an impression of being a punkster (especially his dyed hair). He is rather quiet, and although he does most of the talking during interviews, he tries not to speak unless it's necessary. He also doesn't like to play up to the camera, but I wouldn't say he's shy, just reserved. During the interviews, you can see how he tries to engage every of the members into participating. While Takuya is said to be the driving force behind UVERworld, Katsuya is the one that watches over the driving force. You can't deny the fact that he's very passionate about his music and his band.
Katsuya – Colors of the Heart to BUGRIGHT    PV screencaps Definitely have much improvement from Timeless. In terms of looks, his hair grew longer still and it's blackish now. It makes him seem much older. He left a beard between the Colors of the Heart and SHAMROCK period, thankfully it was gone in Kimi no Suki na Uta. In fact, in Kimi no Suki na Uta, he appeared more gentlemanly. Music wise you can see him moving along with the music more. In Shamrock especially (although some would say more in COTH, but he can barely be seen...). Then in KimiSuki, he seems more sober, giving a very ‘lounge' kind of feeling. In magazine scans, he often has the far-away look that radiates a cool-as-cucumber feel. In BUGRIGHT, Katsuya cut his hair and it sort of resembles the hairstyle back in D-tecnoLife (NO!!!), or at least it looked like that from the Zero no Kotae PV. Plenty of jumping and rocking to music there though, which made up for the (ugly) hairstyle, not that we can see much of him since Takuya stole most of the limelight >_>. As for interviews, he is talking less, letting Takuya do the job.
Katsuya – Endscape to Ukiyo Crosing    PV screencaps Once again, Katsuya changed his hairstyle (though not as fast as Takuya or as obvious as Shinatarou, but still noticeable change). Shorter and spikier black hair (in Endscape) and brown highlights (in Shaka Beach ), with a serious look to boot, especially in Endscape, he looked like a security guard (if you put a Terminator looking sunglasses on him). In Shaka Beach , he seemed more relaxed with casual clothing that really reflected a summer feel. Guess the cool look had been ‘melted' away by the sun. Also, those who watched DoSummer video (available at UVERtalk), you'll notice that Katsuya has become more interactive with the audience. In the Shaka Beach PV, even when he's sitting down, you can see his head kept lolling about in an attempt to rock to the music, as compared to KimiSuki where he was also sitting down, but with minimal movement. He's coming more natural with his movements, and look at the wickedness he pulled with his guitar in Ukiyo Crossing! He's definitely getting more drool-worthy (yes, you people obsessed with Takuya, look at the REAL BAND LEADER once in a while, won't you!). Sadly he's getting so little time on the PVs that even those girls shaking their ass off gets more show time than he do. (We should stomp SONY one day and complain about it!)
There are some comments that he seemed rather down during the period of Ukiyo Crossing. Fans had noticed that he's not as energetic as usual, and was even more apparent when Akira, Nobuto and Shintarou seem to take more limelight. Both Takuya and Nobuto had also commented that Katsuya seemed more depressed as compared to the year before, and when he had a day off, he never goes out. My guess was that he's very disappointed at the result of Ukiyo Crossing because he mentioned before that he had confidence that Ukiyo Crossing can make it to 1 st place. However, it peaked at only 3 rd (which is incredible enough given that they had to compete against HSJ, Laruku, Greeeen and Tohoshinki). Actually, I think he had been rather down the entire year, but it became more prominent after the release of Ukiyo Crossing. Though in PVs he still appeared normal and energetic, but he's getting quieter during interviews and UVERtvs.

Katsuya, Takuya and Nobuto knew each other since young. They were in fact, from the same childcare centre. (I often have the impression that when you say you were in the same childcare centre, you and that other person had often fight with each other. But can you imagine Katsuya hitting Takuya or Nobuto when they stole his toys? More like the other way round. *Cough* Ah, I think I watched too much anime.)
