Firstly, this single has a pretty similar arrangement to Shamrock and just Melody. It starts off with a ballad, followed by a hard rock and lastly, another slow song. However, the difference between Kimi no suki na uta and EXTREME as well as EXTREME and Yasashisa no Shizuku is very distinct. I can't help but think EXTREME is put in to compensate for the lack of instrumental (bass & drums) from the other 2 songs.
All the songs in this single are pretty enjoyable and it would be easy to like it if you like either Kimi no suki na uta or Yasashisa no shizuku (Accoustic version). Thankfully, by putting EXTREME in the 2nd track, neither of the songs overshadow each other. I wouldn't say it is an excellent arrangement in the 3 tracks because that is the most obvious thing to do. Though I would say EXTREME is a little bit out of sync from the other 2 songs, it balances the whole single.
Moving on to the DVD, this is a 15 minute footage of UVERworld's tour document. Unlike the Shibuya-AX live digest that comes with Shamrock, this document gives us more outlook on UVERworld's backstage job, giving us only a few minutes clips on 3 of their live performances in Zepp Tokyo - Colors of the Heart, Kimi no suki na uta and Shamrock. This DVD should not be missed by any UVERfan because you get to see your favourite boys in action! If you are a Takuya fan, don't forget to look out for his weird habits ;D
Also, this single comes with a christmas card autographed by all the 5 members of UVERworld. The illustrations for the CD jacket also surpasses their previous singles. The regular edition comes with an artist CD jacket which compensates for those who missed the limited edition.
Final verdict: 8.5/10 (9.5 together with DVD and CD illustrations)

KIMI NO SUKI NA UTA, a song written for Christmas - a season where love blooms. This is one song whereby the rating can vary from one person to another. To make one an UVERfan, it might not be enough to just let him/her listen to this song. This is of course, a different case if one is already an UVERfan because we fans love all UVERworld's A sides.
I admit I wasn't really fond of this song when I heard it over at UVERworld's main site because this is a drastic change from Shamrock and also their previous singles. I still didn't particularly pay attention to this song even when the PV rip was released. If it wasn't kimi no suki na uta being my first UVERworld single, it might have taken longer for this song to grow on me.
Just like all the other A sides, there are a few things to highlight from this song:
1. The lyrics. No doubt the meaning behind the lyrics is what make me totally addicted to this song. If you are listening to this song without knowing the true meaning, you won't be able to appreciate it fully , so I suggest you better head down towards the lyrics and translation page right now. Firstly, being a ballad, this song revolves around one sided love. It is pretty easy to relate to the lyrics of this song since most people should have experienced how it feels like to be in love. It is a touching piece that touched the heart of many.
Being UVERworld's first ballad, Takuya really did an excellent job in writing the lyrics (and to anybody who has helped him do so).
2. The instrumental. Truly, there is nothing amazing about the instrumental of Kimi no suki na Uta because being a ballad, the focus should have been given to the lyrics, the vocalist. The instrumental for this song might not be catchy enough to get people hooked on to it as it is pretty common for a ballad. The melody line is nowhere comparable to all their previous songs.
Nonetheless, UVERworld has managed to incorporate new instruments, giving this piece a really fresh outlook for those who have listend to at least 1/2 of UVERworld songs. In case you haven't realised, UVERworld has added string instruments into this piece, something that Takuya has always wanted to do. 3. Takuya's vocal parts. Takuya fans, you might have to start worrying because Takuya might be in love. He has brought in so much emotions into his singing it makes people wonder whether he writes the lyrics based on his personal feelings and experiences. His voice also plays a major role in building up the sad atmosphere, making it possible to touch the hearts of his listeners. Truly, his voice is what really captivates me and get me addicted to this song.
If you haven't tried listening and singing it at the same time when it is raining, you should. Close your eyes and just concentrate on the lyrics. It gives a really nice feel to the whole song.
Final verdict: 8.75/10
Will work for UVERworld fans but might not be good enough for others who have yet listen to any UVERsongs before. For people who like just Melody, this song will most probably work for you.

I would say EXTREME is a... pretty unique song. I don't know how to explain it in words but it feels like this song is very messy. Random shoutings in the chorus... A chorus that has a tempo much slower than the verse (pretty much reminds me of SHINE just a much messier version of it).
This song definitely wants to emphasise on the instrumental instead of the lyrics. I wouldn't say much about the lyrics because I don't understand.
Sadly, this song is too short (2:58), when you are just about to get hooked on to the song, it just ends there, making it rather hard for people to truly like this song. It is making wonder if this song is just a filler, to make sure that the single is only approximately 12 minutes long, just like their previous singles. But then again, UVERworld mentioned that they believe Bsides are equally as important as the Asides so I wouldn't know.
Final verdict: 7.75/10
A good song to shout to whenever you are stressed up. Rating would have been much higher if it is slightly longer.

Yasashisa no Shizuku (accoustic version) is a remake of the 5th track of Timeless. It is a wonderful companion for Kimi no suki na uta. One song that wouldn't be enjoyable for those who love the UVERbass and UVERdrums. For some who wasn't particularly fond of the timeless version before might find themselves liking the accoustic version.
I wouldn't comment much on the lyrics because it is practically the same as Yasashisa no shizuku excluding some parts which are removed. One thing to note, Takuya's pronunciation has improved, cheer UVERfans.
Moving on to the instrumental, UVERworld has been exploring many different styles for the past year, and this time, they finally go for an accoustic version of their older song. Once again, I would applaud them for pulling it off very well.
Many instrumental parts have been removed in order to not drag the song too long due to the slower tempo. Though some might not like it, you can't deny that it gives the song a nice flow.
Final verdict: 8/10
Overall, it is an enjoyable song but you might miss it easily if you are not paying full attention.
